AC Photonics Introduces 300-PIN Tunable Transponders
AC Photonics, Inc. (AC) has recently introduced to its customers a new product line of Active Optical Modules. The new line offers a series of tunable transponders, all designed for DWDM applications in telecom network systems:
All transponders introduced are active optical modules integrated with a 10 Gbps Tunable Transmitter, a wide-band high-sensitivity APD Receiver, 16 channels 6xx Mbps Mux and Demux, and 300-pin MSA and I2C interface. However, each transponder has its own unique features.
TSPD-10G-SFF-LN features Small Form Factor (SFF), a compact-size module with only 2.2x3x0.53 inch for its outside layer dimensions. This long-reach transponder has up to plus 5 dBm output power and Data Rate Support from 9.95 Gbps up to 12.5 Gbps.
TSPD-10G-TT-TODC features a Tunable Optical Dispersion Compensator (TODC) to enable its ultra long reach (up to 170 km). It has up to plus 6 dBm output power and Data Rate Support from 9.95 Gbps up to 11.3 Gbps.
TSPD-10G-TT-RZ-S5/X5 is also ultra long reach, featuring a RZ MZ LiNbO3 Modulator. It has up to plus 5 dBm output power and Data Rate Support from 9.95 Gbps up to 12.5 Gbps. Two options are available: the Standard (-S5) version covers the entire standard C-band, whereas and the Extended (-X5) version covers the extended C-band.
All AC’s tunable transponders are in compliance to MSA (Multi Source Agreement), Telecordia GR-468, and RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC.
Transponders are Active Optical Modules, widely used in fiber optical network systems. For AC Photonics, the introduction of Active Optical Modules is a milestone: With its new line of tunable transponders, AC has successfully achieved more product diversity from its original portfolio of passive fiber optical components.
